Workshops
The heart of the Kenyon Summer Conference is the array of workshops covering everything from theology to baking soda bread; from music to woodworking; from calligraphy to painting. Participants register for one 90 minute workshop in the morning and one after lunch. The workshops are designed to meet the interests and abilities of specific age groups with the groups being divided into grades first through third, fourth through sixth, intermediate, high school, and adult. There are also numerous intergenerational workshops designed to bring youth and adults together. Preschool, kindergarten, and infant children have planned, supervised activities or nursery care during the workshop periods so parents can participate freely in the workshops of their choice. The workshops are led by volunteer clergy and lay persons from around the two dioceses who have demonstrated a particular prowess in the topic of the workshop. Preregistration for the workshops is encouraged because there are frequently limits on the numbers of participants and it is possible that a particular workshop might be filled before an individual registers for the conference. Our registration forms request alternate workshop choices to allow for this situation. |
